Laura Holiday Apartment 1 - St Julians /Swieqi

Positive: Overall, we would describe the apartment as good and generally comfortable. The rooms were fine, everything worked properly, and we did not experience any major problems during our stay. One of the biggest advantages is the location. It is a very convenient base for exploring Malta, whether by public transport or by bike. There is a bus stop nearby, making it easy to get around the island. A large supermarket is also within easy reach, as well as several smaller local shops, which is very convenient for everyday shopping during your stay. However, there are a few things that we believe could be improved. First of all, a coffee machine was listed in the description, but there was no coffee machine in the apartment. We also missed some basic welcome amenities. Especially in the Maltese heat, a bottle of water in the fridge upon arrival, a few coffee capsules, some tea, or even a small welcome snack would have been a very nice touch and would make guests feel much more welcome. A few basic cooking essentials, such as salt and other simple seasonings, would also be useful. We were also a little disappointed with the “balcony” mentioned in the description. The apartment is actually located on the ground floor and the outdoor space is more of a patio than a balcony. Unfortunately, it was not particularly inviting. It is quite plain, with no plants or greenery, has limited lighting, and becomes very hot during the day. Another issue is that cigarette ash, cigarette butts and small pieces of rubbish sometimes fall down from the apartments above, leaving the patio and table dirty. Some kind of cover, a few plants and better lighting could make this space much more pleasant and comfortable. The ventilation in the bathrooms could also be improved. There is currently some construction work taking place nearby, which creates some dust, but we do not consider this to be a fault of the apartment or the host, as it is obviously a temporary situation.
